
Two for Hanging
Commissioned by the Washington State Sheriff's Association,
half of all profits go to the association. The painting depicts
the following scene from the annals of law enforcement in the
State of Washington.
Eli Cummins, an Oregon Railroad warehouseman, was brutally
murdered with an axe on July 26, 1882 in Columbia County,
Washington. Sheriff Ed Wilson of Garfield County and Deputy
Sheriff Cavanaugh of Columbia County tracked down the two murders
and brought them back to face justice. They were tried and convicted
and sentenced to hang.
